Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost
God is not mocked!
(from today's Epistle, Gal. 5.25,26; 6.1-10)
The Apostles claim to be the ambassadors of God (cf., 2 Cor. 5.20). Among them, the Prince - St. Peter and his successors (Ac. 1.24-26) - is the Vicar of the Sovereign Lord and King of kings. But the man who claims to be the Vicar of Christ bowing before a woman "infidel"? The ''Pontifex' plays the servant of the 1789 revolutionaries "lodged in the Vatican" (the late Fr. Malachi Martin, S.J. and our post "The Year 1929") preaching by his example their principle of religious indifferentism - repeatedly anathematized by the Sovereign Pontiffs (cf., our post "Papal Condemnation of the Freemasons and their Doctrines"):

Woe to the man by whom scandal cometh!
(Mt. 18.7)
Once, Our Lord severely rebuked the Prince of the Apostles: Go behind Me, Satan, thou art a scandal unto Me! (Mt. 16.23). Verily indeed, the Word of God is living and more piercing than any two-edged sword [which once pierced Cephas and now piercing his successors] (Heb. 4.12)!
