JMJ
Third Sunday after Easter
"Et CUM SPI...+
JMJ

Third Sunday after Easter

"Et CUM SPIRITU TUO"

"O God, Who to those that go astray dost show the light of Thy truth, that they may return to the path of justice: grant that ALL WHO ARE ENROLLED IN THE CHRISTIAN FAITH MAY BOTH SPURN ALL THAT IS HOSTILE TO THAT NAME AND FOLLOW AFTER WHAT IS FITTING TO IT. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord..." (Collect).

"I know thy works, that thou hast the name of being alive: and thou art dead" (Apoc. 3.1): this reproach by Our Lord applies to a local church in particular but also to the Church in general - to the Church in her fifth of seven ages. Of Old this same reproach was already prefigured: "How is the faithful city [the INSTITUTIONAL Rome or the INSTITUTIONAL Church], that was full of judgment, become a harlot?... WOE to the sinful nation... they are gone away backwards... From the sole of the foot UP TO TOP OF THE HEAD, there is no soundness therein" (Is. 1.21,4,6). The 'official' Catholics do not find these to be against the Christian Faith: marrying non-Catholics; attending non-Catholic worship services, listening to non-Catholic pastors, or reading non-Catholic 'inspirational' works - saying, "don't we all believe in one and the same 'God'?"; to the hostile sectarians, "let's just respect each other's beliefs" [as if theirs is just as actually good, beneficial, and salutary as the sectarians']. "There shall be like people like priests" (Jl. 4.9) - there shall be like ecumenical people like ecumenical pastors.
Ignis Deihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13437565567176172342noreply@blogger.com
