"Fools"

+
JMJ

The number of fools is infinite (Eccl. 1.15). The Spirit of Truth does not refer here to the fool of human estimate. Rather, the reference is to those who, following after the manner of the devil*, persist in their own ways despite: (1) the contrary convictions shown them by the Spirit of Truth and (2) a certain knowledge of their tragic end.
---
* Since the knowledge of pure spirits is infused, instantaneous and foreseeing with all clarity and certainty the ultimate logical conclusion of their choice, there was no more possibility of conversion and redemption for the fallen angels; whereas, the knowledge of man, limited by his nature that admits of corporality, is discursive and proceeds most readily from what appears of the sensible (things perceived by his senses).
---

In his homily at the chapel of Domus Sanctae Marthae last Tuesday, Pope Francis told the congregation that there were those "hard-headed... foolish and slow of heart" who would like to undo the changes brought about through Vatican II, "saying we should go back... turn back time." Many from among those who refuse to associate with the Neo-Catholic [Dis-]Order were quick to react in such manner as if they admitted that they were actually those "fools" referred to.

However, Pope Francis must be "barking up the wrong tree." True Traditional Catholics, under the light of the Spirit of Truth, do not desire the impossible, in fact, cannot desire what is absurd: "to go back... turn back time." True Traditional Catholics desire that the Order mandated by God must be respected first and foremost by the Roman Pontiff himself. But the Neo-Catholic [Dis-]Order of Vatican II? By their fruits you shall know them (Mt. 7.16):

By whose 'spirit' is the Neo-spiritual fornication of Vatican II ecumenism (with its underlying 1789 principle of 'liberty [of conscience and religion]') inspired?

Pope John Paul II just another religious leader, cf.,

What needs be "enacted"?

Thou shalt not enter into league with them... with their gods [the devils - Ps. 95.5, DRV]. Let them not dwell in thy land, lest perhaps they make thee sin against Me (Ex. 23.32,33). But thus rather shall you deal with them (Deut. 7.5): Beat down their pillars... waste all their high places (Num. 33.52)... look not to the altars which [their] hands made: and... have no respect to the things that [their] fingers wrought, such as groves and temples (Is. 17.8).

The Lord and Savior once rebuked Peter: Get thee behind me, Satan! Thou savorest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men (Mt. 16.23) - truly, the Word of God is living and effectual and more piercing than any two edged sword (Heb. 4.12).

When the Spirit and the other spirit breathe...

"The religions on the path to [g]od"
- Pope Benedict XVI
All the gods of the Gentiles are devils
(Ps. 95.5)
What concord hath Christ with Belial?
Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever
(2 Cor. 6.15)

"Does the Holy Spirit annoy you?" Asks Pope Francis in his homily last Tuesday on the need still of 'Catholics' to enact the teachings of the Second Vatican Council (or Vatican II). He continues, "we want the Holy Spirit to sleep and not to bother us, but that's not the Holy Spirit's role."

In his first address to the Cardinals (cf., our post "Desacralization"), Pope Francis compared the Holy Ghost to a "disciple of Babel" [the Neo-Catholic 'theology' of Vatican II contains much of Neo-'Jesuitism' if not the whole original of the latter?]. If he ascribes Vatican II (on homosexuality, for example: cf., our post "The Divine Spirit and the 'spirit' of Vatican II on Homosexuality") to that 'spirit', then Catholics would desire that that filthy spirit be exorcised and expelled as they were taught: "Veni, Creator Spiritus... hostem repellas longius!"

It is true that the Holy Ghost 'disturbs' us and so does the evil spirit; but, with this difference: the Holy Ghost convicts us of sin, justice, and judgment (cf., Jn. 16.8) and then brings us to true peace ("Pacemque dones protinus!") - turning us from our novel inventions (with their embedded 1789 revolutionary principles of "fraternity/brotherhood, equality/egalitarianism, liberty: of opinion, conscience and religion") to God's irrevocable decrees on the order of a truly Christian life (at the heart of it is that Traditional Rite of the Mass imposed "ex-cathedra" to be "the norm - therefore the ordinary - in perpetuity"); whereas, the evil spirit bids us turn from the path of our Sacred Catholic Tradition (2 Thess. 2.14) aside by convincing us in the first place of error but of course always under cover of a plausible truth (cf., 2 Cor. 11.14-15: Mt. 24.24): that [g]od can never be that hard, harsh, cruel, and wrathful god of the Middle Ages who condemns an Innocent and even bids the same innocent Victim in His passion and death on the Cross be made present still (albeit in an unbloody manner, mystically) - hence, a New Rite of Worship, rather "Celebration", where one finds [a false] peace before a [g]od who understands the language of 'humanism' [the New M(e)ss, then, is truly an invention of a Freemason, cf., our post "The Catholic Sanctuary... II"]: a god "who loves and heals [even] unrepentant sinners" (cf., the Neo-Catholic 'theology' of Vatican II and how, especially, Popes John Paul II - towards the Schismatic Greeks - and Benedict XVI - towards the 'excommunicated' auxiliary bishops consecrated by Abp. Lefebvre - acted in its 'light': "The Ultimate Delusion of Vatican II 'Catholicism'").

The "Voice of Orthodoxy" in the Vatican II Era: At the Heart of Catholic Crisis - the Priesthood

+
JMJ

Tuesday after Good Shepherd Sunday

Pope Francis called for a panel of Cardinals to advise him on the reformation of the institutions of the Catholic Church that were surrendered to Neo-Catholicism - the "pseudo-religion" (Ms. bella Dodd, former Secretary-General of the US Communist Party, in our post "The Year 1929") of the revolutionaries infiltrated into the seminaries who would later become the accursed mock-priests and mock-prelates. Among the reforms to be pursued deals with the Neo-Catholic priesthood. But how does one reform a priesthood that was falsified in its very concept?

In the 4th century, when almost all the Catholic pastors (bishops and priests) turned Arian heretics and the Pope, Liberius, succumbed to being a compromised Roman Pontiff, Athanasius, the Bishop of Alexandria (Greek Rite), was the pre-eminent "Voice of Orthodoxy" - but in exile. At the foot of the Cross, only one Apostle was left beside the Crucified - and it was not even the Prince of the Apostles. And when the appointed Apocalyptic time came to pass, when the Sun and the moon were to be eclipsed (cf., our posts "A Perilous 'Catholic' Voyage": "The Year 1929", "The Great Tribulation"), the appointed angel arose from the the rising of the sun, having the sign of the living God (cf., our post "The Wine of the Wrath of God") to serve as the beacon of light for God's elect - the "Voice of Catholic Orthodoxy" in the end-times period: the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre:

"To give a clear idea of the nature and extent of the attack on the priesthood during the crisis through which the Church is passing today, it may not be inopportune to give a brief description of that crisis, enumerating some aspects of the tragic situation.

First and foremost, we are faced with continual attacks on the integrity of our Faith. To corrupt the truth which has always been faithfully handed down to us, two powerful means have been brought into play: a new catechism* and the so-called theological research allowed into university teaching. Thus the faithful, especially the young, will no longer know the Catholic truth, and there will soon arise a generation of clergy, priests, with a wholly falsified and erroneous knowledge of philosophy and theology [the "pseudo-Catholic priesthood; something that resembles the Catholic priesthood but was not the real thing," cf., our post "The Year 1929"; cf., also our posts "Our 'Great Reversal'" and "The Ultimate Delusion of Vatican II 'Catholicism'"].
---
* See, for example, the novelty of what the Neo-Catholic catechism, "The Catechism of the Catholic Church", teaches concerning homosexuality. Cf., our post "The Divine Spirit and the 'spirit' of Vatican II on Homosexuality".
---

Both those statements of facts are undeniable. All the new catechisms have been inspired more or less by the Dutch Catechism. Now, the Commission of Cardinals appointed by the Pope condemned ten fundamental points in this catechism, yet the text has never been amended. And this unsound catechism has been translated, unaltered, into all languages. Sometimes the Commission's text was printed with the table of contents, sometimes there was no mention of it at all. It is thus perfectly clear that this catechism, steeped in modernist ideas (cf., our posts "Upheaval: Russia's Errors Spreading from the Vatican", "Vatican II and Modernism", and "Vatican II and Freemasonry on 'Religious Liberty'") should, at all costs, be rejected. To let these catechisms fall into the hands of children is nothing less than a crime and an attack on their faith.

The danger of theological research is equally obvious. These ['theologists' - the lay people, even women! in their ranks] - or would-be-['theologists' - feel free on this pretext to openly teach heresy. It is they who are corrupting the minds of aspirants to the priesthood and they who are drawing up the schemata put forward for the diocesan or national synods. Many of these schemata are in open conflict with what the Magisterium of the Church has always taught. Hosts of instances may be found in all 'Catholic' universities.

Subversion is rampant in the liturgy also. This subversion reaches all practicing adults through the intermediary of the liturgical center. In France, the C.N.P. (Centre National de Pastorale Liturgique) admits in its January issue a check on reform. It merely notes an obvious decline in religious practice and the boredom of the faithful confronted with the new liturgy. But it does not point out the most serious aspect, the loss of faith in many believers and priests. The essential dogmas of our Holy Religion are no longer expressed with the same vigor [for the liturgy is the vehicle of inculcating the truths of the Faith]. The Faith of  believers [and priests] is no longer protected by the form of worship. Protestant errors are spreading rapidly among laity and priests alike. So venerable a tradition cannot with impunity be so radically touched without endangering the dogmas contained in it.

Finally, another target for the destroyers of the Church is at one and the same time the institution and the constitution of the Church. The necessity for the Catholic Church, the sole ark of salvation outside which no man may be saved, has been called in question, if not openly denied. Concern for an aberrant ecumenism has shaken the true nature of the Church [cf., our posts "Our 'Great Reveersal'", "Our Lady and the New Orientation in Rome", and "The Great Tribulation"], and this error has disastrous consequences, especially for missionary vocations and the raison d'etre of missions themselves.

The divine constitution of the Church as conceived and willed by Our Lord in accordance with His desire, is also an object of subversion. While its whole structure rests on the personal authority of men consecrated by the sacrament of Order and by the mandate of the competent authority, the new 'theology' is bent on introducing the democratic and collegial system wholly contrary to our Lord's will. The new synods are an example of the way in which Masonic ideas are penetrating the Church [cf., our posts "A Perilous 'Catholic' Voyage" and "Vatican II and Freemasonry on 'Religious Liberty'"]. Everything goes by vote and election. Personal authority has been replaced by Councils. Examples are so numerous that it is difficult to keep count of them.

From the mere consideration of some sensitive points of the crisis, let us recognize how deep it is and how cleverly organized and directed, so much so that one may truly see behind the undertaking the master hand, not of a man, but of Satan himself. Let us point out, in concluding this brief outline, that Satan's masterstroke is to have succeeded in sowing disobedience to all Tradition through obedience. The most typical example of these established facts is that of aggiornamento of the religious orders. Through obedience monks and nuns are made to disobey the rules and constitutions laid down by their founders, laws which they swore at their profession to obey. Hence comes the profound disorder which reigns in the bosom of these societies and in the bosom of the Church.

Obedience in this case should be a categorical refusal [cf., our post "Catholic Resistance, Not Disobedience"]. Authority, even a legitimate authority, cannot command a bad and reprehensible act. No-one can force us to transmute our vows into simple promises. None can force us to become Protestants or Modernists.

The results of such blindness are tragically clear.

But let us come to the main subject of these few lines - the priesthood - the priest faced with this crisis. We can and should state that he is at the very heart of this crisis and it is he who is its chief victim, for all that touches the Church touches first the priest.

It is far from easy to trace the evolution of the idea of the priesthood and its consequence with accuracy. One should perhaps go back thirty years [this address was given by the Archbishop in 1972 - the subversion of the Catholic priesthood by the infiltrated revolutionary dummies of the Synagogue of Satan (Apoc. 2.9; 3.9) began in the 1930s, cf., our posts "The Year 1929" and "Upheaval" - links provided above] and recall the way in which subversive ideas on the function of the priest and his relations with the world were infiltrating seminaries. We will, however, confine ourselves to the last ten years, those of the Council and the years following it.

In approaching all the changes which took place during that time stress was laid on world evolution to convince the priest that he too should change his way of life. It was easy to give him complexes of loneliness, frustration, and being a stranger in society. He was told that he should renew his ties with the world and open himself to it. His bad training was blamed and his old-fashioned dress and way of life. The slogan which helped the priest to side with the world was ready to hand: "The priest is a man as other men." This being so, he should dress like others [Neo-Catholic priests in Anglican/Episcopalian garb at their Neo-Catholic liturgical services and in layman's get-up outside the service and outside their neo-seminaries and temples]; like them, take up a profession, enjoy the liberty of his civil and political opinions, and be free to marry. Seminary students had only to adapt themselves to this new "type of priest." Unfortunately, such language was not on the lips of the enemies of the Church alone, but in the mouth of [Neo-Catholic] priests and bishops.

The results were not long delayed: the giving up of every outward sign of the cleric [especially the black Roman cassock], the search for a profession, the transformation of worship to suit the taste of the world, and, a few years later, the loss of faith culminating in the breaking of their vows by thousands of priests [and in the precipitation even to the basest sexual perversions]. That is certainly the most grievous mark of this reform - the loss of faith on the part of priests, for the priest is essentially the man of faith. If he no longer knows what he is, he loses 'faith' in himself, in the meaning of his priesthood.

The definition of priesthood given by St. Paul and by the Council of Trent has been radically altered. The priest is no longer he who goes up to the altar* and offers a sacrifice of praise to God for the remission of sins.
---
* And therefore, the Catholic priesthood is the fulfillment and perfection of the Levitical priesthood of Old. The Levitical priest is the minister of the Lord for ever (1 Par. - 1 Chron. in non-Catholic versions - 15.2); he was chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to go up to My altar... (1 Ki. - 1 Sam. in non-Catholic versions - 2.28). A true Catholic priest bears in him the Levitical unction which Our Lord desired to prosper to an everlasting priesthood (Ex. 40.13). The Neo-Catholic priesthood conferred by the New Rite of Orders which was concocted by the Freemason Bugnini is the repudiation of this very concept of the Catholic priesthood as the fulfillment and perfection of the Levitical priesthood of Old - an ancient priesthood in the modern times?
---

The first end of the priesthood is the offering of the Sacrifice [they offer holocausts  to the Lord, every day, morning and evening (2 Par. 13.11)]. There is a secondary end - evangelization. Evangelization  is now taking precedence over the sacrifice and sacraments. It is an end in itself. This grave error [the diabolical turning of things upside-down] has tragic consequences. Indeed, lacking in true end, evangelization will be utterly disorientated and seek causes pleasing to the word such as false social justice [of the 1789 'equality'] and false freedom, which take new names: development, progress, and world-building. We are right in the language which leads to all revolutions. The [Neo-Catholic] priest finds a leading part to play in the world Revolution against structures, all structures - political, social, ecclesiastical, family, and parish. Nothing must remain. Communism* has never found agents as effective as these priests. Priests have lost their faith - a grievous acknowledgment, if such it be, in him who is the man of faith.
---
* "... [Our mock-prelates and mock-priests] were working to bring about change in order to weaken the Church's effectiveness against Communism" (Ms Bella Dodd, former Secretary-General of the US Communist Party, in our post "The Year 1929").
---

Everything in this new perspective of the priest follows logically: the giving up of the cassock, the desire for practicing a profession, the possibility of marriage. Once the sacrifice of the altar ceases to be the chief reason for the priesthood all the sacraments are at risk. The priest will call in the laity* since he himself will be busy with union or political tasks. Baptism will be administered by laymen or married deacons. It is they, too, who distribute the Eucharist and carry it to the sick. Since confession is altogether time-consuming, there is a search for every possible means of discrediting it and replacing it by communal penitential ceremonies. In this respect modernist 'theologians' have made Herculean efforts to obtain from episcopal conferences documents casting doubt on auricular confession and granting approval to more and more experiments till the day will come when the faithful give up the practice - and the Faith - completely. Since the [traditional] Sacrament of Penance is a judgment [cf., our post "Absolvo te... (II)"], it is impossible to judge without hearing the facts of the case. General absolution may excite contrition - they are not Sacramental. In every country the attempt to force the hand of the authorities is growing.
---
* ... You have brought in strangers... to be in My sanctuary... You have set keepers of My charge in My sanctuary  for yourselves (Ezech. 44.7,8).
---

Thus, following the destruction of the Mass [its formulary of prayers revised - a lie placed at the very heart, the Consecration, cf., Pope Benedict XVI in our post "The New Liturgy: 'Outbalanced Liturgy... More a Celebration Than Worship'" - to reflect the Neo-Catholic 'theology', cf., our post "The Ultimate Delusion of Vatican II 'Catholicism'"], there is a gradual progress towards the destruction of the Sacraments. It is perfectly fair. The devil is busily scoring points and leading millions of souls to perdition.

This false definition of the priesthood is comparable to the false definition of marriage. The procedure [the diabolical turning of things upside-down] is the same. Cardinal Suenens had already proposed at the Council that conjugal love and procreation should be put on the same footing. Though, following a vehement intervention by Cardinal Browne, he was obliged next day to retract his thesis, he had succeeded on the evening before in setting ajar a door for many theologians and bishops. We saw this in connection with Humanae Vitae. The danger of faulty definition is obvious. The chief end of marriage is indeed procreation, conjugal love is the secondary end, auxiliary to the first. To change these relationships is to allow those practices [as contraception - the Scriptural 'Onanism', cf., Gen. 38.9)] contrary to the holiness and stability of the family.

The same is true of the definition of the Mass. To change the definition of the Mass in accordance with Article VII of the Introduction to the Novus Ordo (the New Order) is to arrive at the Protestant supper [cf., our post, "Pope Benedict XVI on the New Mass..."]. Though the definition has been [subsequently] changed, or at least modified [after protests], the text of the Ordo issued with that definition has remained the same. It is a fresh proof of the importance of precise definition in accordance with the doctrine and faith of the Church.

The [Neo-Catholic] priest having a false conception of his priesthood and seeing himself as "a man like other men" loses his sense of priestly dignity. He should not be surprised that the world no longer respects him. The outcome of this [diabolical] disorientation can only be scorn, both on the part of the enemies of the Church [and their media propagandists] and on the part of those who still hold an exact idea of the priesthood [especially on the part of Our Lord: MANY will say to Me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied - by preaching, according to the Ven. Louis of Granada, O.P., a spiritual master and writer who was a favorite of our holy Mother St. Teresa of Jesus, in his work "The Sinner's Guide" - in Thy Name, and cast out devils - during Confessions - in Thy Name, and done many miracles - through the Consecration - in Thy Name? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity (Mt. 7.22-23).].

The seminaries that have fallen into line in training their students on this false concept of the priest have literally scuttled themselves. Real students for the priesthood rightly refuse this training, with its dangers to faith and morals. Those who have applauded and demanded these reforms are not slow to realize that they would be far freer militants to strive for the social, political, and religious revolution outside the institutions of the Church. That is why seminaries are emptying more or less rapidly, depending on the country.

But the possibility of restoring true seminaries still exists, for there are still many true [Catholic] vocations. That should be the main concern of the bishops and priests aware of the Church's present danger. The Holy Spirit lives in His Church and is forever seeking to spread through souls, especially the souls of priests. May we succeed in rebuilding true houses for priestly vocations such as the Church has always desired...." (from a lecture delivered in Barcelona, Spain, 31st March 1972, in A Bishop Speaks, published by the Angelus Press, pp. 101-106).

Feast of the Annunciation
(transferred from 25th March - Monday in Holy Week)

Ave, gratia plena!

From the Holy Gospel (Lk. 1.26-38) for today's Feast:

... The Angel being come in... (v.28): What could be the disposition of the soul of the Blessed Virgin in which She received the Word of salvation? Her Teresian Carmelite children who look up to Her would answer, in prayer and recollection in silence and solitude - living a consecrated life at the Temple.

Hail, full of grace: Only the Sacred Latin Vulgate Bible and its traditional English translation, the Douay-Rheims Bible, translate the Greek kecharitomene. And not without solid basis: Hail ("Salve!" in Latin) is a military triumphalist* salutation! Of Old (Gen. 3.15), God declared: I will put enmity between thee [the devil] and the Woman [logical reference here was to a Woman other than Eve for Eve, fallen as she already was from her original justice - lost the grace of God - was now a friend, nay, the slave of the devil]. And who should triumph between the devil and the Woman? The Eternal Word Who Is now made flesh (Jn. 1.14) in the womb of the Blessed Virgin foretold of this Her triumph: The Lord hath blessed [me] by His power, because by [me] He hath brought our enemies to nought... The Lord hath directed [me] to the cutting off the head of the prince of our enemies (Judith** 13.22,24). She shall crush thy head (Gen. 3.15). The Angel now reveals who that Woman is.
---
* The actual reason why the pseudo-Catholic Biblical 'scholars' revised it with "Rejoice" in their bastard versions is that "militant" triumphalism is characteristic of the traditional Catholic Order which insists on the sovereign dominion of Christ the King not only over individual minds and hearts but also over all social-economic institutions and political systems and their governmental organs - all things... in heaven and on earth, in Him (Eph. 1.10); but this until Vatican II: a "New Ecclesial Reality" (as Cardinal Hoyos referred to the New 'Catholic' [Dis-]Order where, in ramming down the throat of the 'conservative' Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) his unilateral choice of a new Superior General for them, he insisted that 'conservative' Seminarians must be "integrated" - so they used to be outside which 'Catholic' Church?), a "pilgrim" "People of God" walking together with men of all sorts of error, under the Freemasonic motto of "brotherhood/fraternity, equality, liberty", searching for truth - a characteristic of the counterfeit Church of the revolutionary dummies and of the media propagandists of the Synagogue of Satan (Apoc. 2.9; 3.9), cf., our post "The Year That Was 1929".

** The Book of Judith, along with the Books of Tobit, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch, the Machabees (I and II), portions of the Book of Esther (10.4-16; 14), and portions of the Book of Daniel (3.24-90; 13.14), was left out in the Protestant versions. The "Bible-only" sectarians interestingly repudiated Catholic Tradition yet sustained the later consensus among Talmudic Jewry's scholars in excluding the said books and parts in Jewry's list - a measure not authoritative and definitive in the absence, nay extinction, of Jewish priests (the OT priestly Judaism is dead with its Temple; its perfection and fulfillment is the Catholic Religion with its traditional Sanctuary, cf., our posts "The Catholic Sanctuary prefigured of Old" Part I and Part II). All the while their versions say: "ALL scripture IS INSPIRED" (2 Tim. 3.16). "ALL... INSPIRED" yet the "Bible-only" sectarians now gainsay: "EXCEPT Judith and...!" - how convinced they were of "believ[ing] only what the Bible say."
---

Full of grace: The Blessed Virgin Mary was given a new name, as it were. In Lourdes, France, She finally made Herself known to Bernadette: "I am the Immaculate Conception." She was full of grace at the moment She was conceived in the womb of St. Anne - God preserving Her, in view of the Incarnation of the Eternal Word Who was with God, and ... was God (Jn. 1.1), from having ever been subject to dominion of the devil. The Eternal Word made flesh this day, foretold of this Her Original preservation and deliverance: The Lord hath not suffered me His handmaid to be defiled, but hath brought me... without pollution of sin, rejoicing for His victory, for my escape, and for your deliverance.... (Jud. 13.20). Therefore the same Eternal Word made flesh sings of Her: Thou art all fair, O My love, and there is not a spot in thee.... One is My dove, My perfect one is but one (Canticle of Canticles. 4.7; 6.8); and, proverbially, many daughters have gathered together riches: thou hast surpassed them all (Prov. 31.29) - hence, the Angel says of Her: blessed art thou among women.

Behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and thou shalt call His name Jesus (v.31): Jesus, the Emmanuel (God-with-us) of Is. 7.14. The Eternal Word fulfills His promise through the Prophet Isaias: God Himself will come and save you (35.4).

How shall this be done, because I know not man? (v. 34). Shall ("fiet" in the Latin of St. Jerome's): Sacred Writ puts it in the simple future tense - a simple inquiry as to the miraculous* manner. The bastard modern versions in modal: "How can ["potest" in Latin]...," - their subject now does not believe that God can accomplish it; this contradicts v.45: And blessed art thou that hast believed...
---
* See the note on the succeeding passage below.
---

The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee (v.35). The Prophet Isaias foretold of this virgin conception of the Divine Savior: The Lord Himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive (7.14). A sign, that is, a miracle. Mary knew in the Sacred Writ of a virgin miraculously conceiving the Lord Redeemer (Is. 49.7). As to how the Almighty shall accomplish it, the Angel simply states that it is through the exclusive operation of the Holy Ghost and points to the other wonder of the almighty work of the Holy Ghost: Her cousin Elizabeth who conceived in her old age, the sixth month with her that is called barren (v.36) - and this suffices for the Blessed Virgin; no more further inquiry. Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word (v.38).

"Absolvo te..." (II)

Dominica in albis

Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained (Jn. 20.22-23, from the Holy Gospel for today).

Penance as a Sacrament

In our post “Sin and its malice” (I), the grace of penance is as old as the world: it is to be found everywhere where the Holy Ghost works in the hearts of men, if they are faithful and correspond with it.

“Our Lord has instituted a divine Sacrament, in which He gives the absolution of His Most Precious Blood [but] to those who accuse themselves. He instituted it on that night, when He spoke the words: receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive they are forgiven them; whose sins you shall retain, they are retained (Jn. 20.22-23, from the Holy Gospel for the day – Dominica in albis); and the reason for which He instituted it is thisthat we may have something more than our self-assurance on which to depend for the hope of our absolution. The Pharisee in the Temple, who stood afar off and said, “God, I thank Thee that I am not as other men are – extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican” (Lk. 18.11) – that Pharisee absolved himself; but his absolution was not ratified in Heaven [– had he heard only the voice of the Savior].

There are men who absolve themselves all the day long. They forget the sins of their childhood, boyhood, youth, and manhood – ay, the sins of last year, the sins of yesterday; and, having a slippery treacherous memory of their own sins, though retentive and tenacious of the sins of other men, they are perpetually absolving themselves, and assuring themselves that they are pardoned and forgiven before God. There cannot be a state more dangerous, delusive, or fatal; and in order to guard us from this, our Lord has instituted a Sacrament, in which to assure us of our absolution, in which our absolution is a judicial act, an authoritative sentence, an act pronounced by one who is impartial, and who has authority. We are not left to absolve ourselves; we are absolved in the name and by the power of Jesus Christ by a judge [a priest who possesses the perpetual Levitical* unction].
---
* ... The Levites, whom the Lord hath chosen... to minister unto Himself for ever (1 Par. - 1 Chron. in non-Catholic versions - 15.2). They are to judge the judgment and the cause of the Lord (2 Par. 19.8: Ezech. 44.24) - an office which the ministers of the counterfeit 'Catholic Church' (the Neo-Catholic "Ecclesial reality" of Vatican II), the Neo-Catholic priests who "preside" at their "tables" in Anglican liturgical trappings, deny or repudiate.
---

Moreover, for our preparation for that Sacrament there is actual grace given; and that grace is the grace of the Holy Ghost, having two effects: first to give us light to know ourselves more truly (cf., our post "'Find' and 'Prove' One's Self?"), and thereby to understand, to count up, to measure, and to appreciate our sins and the gravity of them; and secondly, that same grace enables us to be contrite, and to make the act of sorrow. Our Lord instituted the Sacrament; thus He took the grace of penance which was working from the beginning of the world, and incorporated it in a visible sign: and He communicates  His absolution to those who come for it, as He gives the Bread of Life to those who receive Holy Communion at the altar.

Every Sacrament, as you know, is an outward sign of inward grace. It has what is called the form and the matter.  What the is the form of the Sacrament of Penance? It is these words: “I absolve thee from thy sins.” But who can forgive sins except God only? Is it the priest? Do you imagine for one moment that the Holy Catholic Church is – I will not say so superstitious, but is so dull of heart, so dark of understanding as either to believe or teach that it is the man who absolves? It is the office that absolves; and what is the office? The priesthood of Jesus Christ Himself. There are not two, there is but one Priest and one priesthood; and the priesthood that we bear is the participation of that one priesthood of Jesus Christ Himself. What we do, we do not of ourselves. It is He who does it by us. It is simply ministerial on our part. Absolution is given solely and entirely by His power. When at the altar we say, “This is My Body, this is My Blood,” do we speak in our own name? There is but one absolver, Jesus Christ Himself; but He has a number of ministers on earth, through whom He applies His Precious Blood to souls that are truly penitent. The act of absolution is His.

Such then is the form; next, what is the matter? There are two kinds of matter: there is what we call remote, and that matter we call proximate. The remote matter of the Sacrament is the sins we have committed. It is called remote for this reason – they may be the sins of our childhood, a long way off; the sins of our youth, long forgotten, but now at last remembered; the sins that we have committed, and have long hesitated to confess; all these are remote from the present moment. Proximate matter is that state of heart which we must bring with us at the moment, then and there; it is the penitent’s contrition, confession of sins, and willingness to make satisfaction.

Now the remote matter is of two kinds: First, there is the necessary matter which we are bound to confess under the pain of eternal death; and there is that voluntary matter, which it is good, wholesome, safe, and better to confess, though it is not of absolute necessity. Now the first means all the mortal sins committed after Baptism. We know of no revealed way whereby mortal actual sins committed after Baptism can be absolved, save only by the Sacrament of Penance. One mortal sin separates the soul from God. A soul separated from God is dead; and therefore it is a necessity that every mortal sin we have committed should be confessed and absolved. The voluntary matter is our venial sins.

As to venial sins, there are two reasons why it is good to confess them. The first is because, as I showed you, venial sins may easily pass into mortal sins. Sometimes, through the self-love which is in us, we do not distinguish between them; and we consider what God knows and sees to be mortal to be only venial, and in this we may make dangerous mistakes. Again, to promote humility, self-accusation, sorrow, and therefore the grace of perseverance, and to renew our peace with God, it is good to accuse ourselves of everything we know we have committed since our last confession, even in the least – even in the venial sins of omission. It is safer, better, and more wholesome to confess these sins of omission, and to ask God to forgive them; nevertheless, it is quite true that these sins, when they are venial, are not of necessary confession.

Well, the proximate matter means the state of the heart, mind and will. If any man were to kneel down in the confessional, and accuse himself without sorrow for his sins, he would commit another sin. It would be an act of sin itself. It would be a sacrilege to come and attempt to receive that Sacrament without the proper dispositions, that is, without being worthy; and the man who has no sorrow for sin is not worthy. Nevertheless, it is not necessary that this sorrow be felt with the emotions [an error of Luther]; rather, it is the resolve of the will to hate and turn away from the sins one has committed.

Next, there must be a resolve of the will to amend one’s life. If a man come and ask for pardon, even were he to accuse himself perfectly, without having a resolved purpose not to sin again – which includes the occasions of sin – that man would commit a sacrilege. Therefore, the heart and mind must be sorrowful, and the will resolved not to commit sin again. You will say, “How can a man say this, knowing his weakness and instability?” The answer is that if any man sincerely resolves not to sin, and is conscious of his own weakness, and afraid of it, that is a true and a good resolution – and God will accept it, even though afterwards through suddenness or subtlety of temptation he should be cast down. At the time, he was perfectly sincere in his resolutions, and that is all that God requires. (from a sermon of Henry Edward Cardinal Manning)

Saturday in the Easter Week

... The Lord's Day (Apoc. 1.10)

From the Holy Gospel (Jn. 20.1-9) for the day:

And on the first day of the week... when it was yet dark... the stone taken away from the sepulchre (v.1). The Jews keep the last and seventh day of the week, the Sabbath day, holy (Ex. 20.10). The Sabbath was a joyous festival for them because on that day also, the Hebrew people were released from slavery in Egypt. But it was only a figure (1 Cor. 10.6) of that most joyous day when the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ emerged as the greatest Victor from the sealed and guarded sepulchre with a large company of His subjects, under the Old dispensation, justified by their life of faith and hope in Him as the promised Lord Redeemer of Israel (Is. 49.7), but were kept "in durance" (in limbo). Hence, the Apostles appointed the glorious day of the Orient from on high (Lk. 1.78) - the Day of Him Who Is the Orient, "Sun"-day -  the first day of the week (Acts 20.7) as that real holy day of Christian rest when Christ's disciples were assembled... in prayers (Acts 2.42)... [on bended knees, cf., Phil. 2.10] before the altar (Heb. 13.10) of the New Covenant in the communication of the breaking of [the Living Bread (Jn. 6.51; cf., v.34) - prefigured of Old to be the most holy (Lev. 24.9) unbloody sacrifice of Christ as the eternal high priest according to the Order of Melchisedech (Heb. 6.20)] (Acts 2.42).

Friday in Easter Week

From the Holy Gospel (Mt. 28.16-20) for the day:

All power in heaven and earth is given to Me (v.18). If Jesus is God, why power is GIVEN Him? Jesus is BOTH God AND Man [cf., the testimony of St. Peter the Apostle in "The Petrine Confession"]. As Man, He received all power in heaven and earth from God. Secondly, "it may also be said that the Eternal Son, though He be equal and be the same God with the Father [cf., Jn. 10.30,33; 17.5], yet He proceeds and receives all from the Father" (Dr. Witham, in Fr. Haydock's Commentary).

In virtue of this power Christ sends the Apostles even AS the Father sent Him (Jn.20.21) to teach and make disciples not one but all nations. Christ would build upon "Cephas" ("rock" plain & simple in the original Aramaic), Mt.16.18, a Universal ("Catholic") Church.

Teach ye all nations (v.19). The God of Truth is consistent in His saving works even of Old: appointing His Levitical* priests** (now, invested with the perfect ministry, Heb.9.11) to go about all (2 Par. - 2 Chron. in non-Catholic versions - 17.9) nations that the fear of the Lord [come] upon all the kingdoms (2 Par. 17.10).
---
* cf., our posts "Angels" and "The Wine of the Wrath of God"

** That the Apostles were ordained priests: We have an altar (St. Paul to the Hebrews, 13.10)
---

The Eternal Word-made Flesh did not command "to write the New Testament" - He Himself did not write anything - and not "distribute the Bible" for He would later teach through the Apostle St. Paul that the saving Faith cometh by hearing (Rom. 10.17) - a refutation of what the "Bible-only" fundamentalists assert by implication: "by reading."

Baptizing them 'in Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti (v.19). This is the Baptism in the Name of Jesus mentioned in Acts 8.16 to distinguish it from that baptism in the name of John the Precursor. Thus, the non-Trinitarian baptism being performed by some Bible-only fundamentalists is invalid.

Behold, I Am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world (v.20). Christ's promise is not limited to the final year of the natural life of the last Apostle to live. It must necessarily be extended to their successors who are to take the place of this ministry and apostleship (Acts 1.25) until the end of time. This refutes the claim of the "Bible-only" fundamentalists, on the one hand, that the original Church built by the Lord and Savior had defected from the Truth and fallen into the abyss of idolatry and immorality; and, the claim of the Sedevacantists (cf., our post "Against Sedevacantism" Part I and Part II), on the other, that the Chair of Peter is still empty since the death of Pope Pius XII in 1958 - but has since been occupied by charlatans - and the official episcopal body stuffed with laymen in episcopal trappings. The gates of hell shall not prevail [the Savior did not say, "shall not ASSAIL WITHIN AND WITHOUT"] against it (Mt. 16.18). There were those who apostatized and they were even of great number, but the whole "Mystical Body of Christ"? - as if Christ's shedding of His Blood were fruitless and therefore futile. No man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, as also Christ doth the Church (Eph. 5.29).

"Abominatio Desolationis"

+
JMJ

Thursday in Easter Week

When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place... let them flee to the mountains (Mt. 24.15,16).

In the Holy Gospel for today, we hear Mary Magdalene weeping: they have taken away my Lord; and I know not where they have laid Him (Jn. 20.13). Where they have laid Him. This was quoted by Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, Secretary of State to Pope Pius XI and who later succeeded the latter as Pope Pius XII, in expressing his alarm over the Messages of Our Lady who appeared in Fatima, Portugal (cf., our post "The Great Sign in Heaven").

"I am worried by the Blessed Virgin's messages to Lucia of Fatima. This persistence of Mary about the dangers which menace the Church is a divine warning against the suicide of altering the Faith, in her Liturgy [that is, in the New Rite of Sacraments, esp. in the New Rite of the 'Mass', of Vatican II], in her Theology [that is, the Neo-Catholic 'Theology', cf., our post "The Ultimate Delusion of Vatican II 'Catholicism'"]... I hear all around me innovators [the agents of the Synagogue of Satan (Apoc. 2.9; 3.9) who infiltrated the Church's seminaries and monasteries in the 1930s, cf., our post "The Year That Was 1929", the Neo-Catholic men advocating 'Reform,' 'Progress,' 'Updating'] who wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject her ornaments [see the 'simple' Pope in our post "Desacralization"] and make her feel remorse for her historical past [the Papal apologies for the Crusades, the Great Schism, the Catholic Counter-Reformation..., cf., our post "Upheaval"]....

A day will come... when the Church will doubt as Peter doubted. She will be tempted to believe that man has become God [the INSTITUTIONAL* teaching Church materially proclaiming - that is, without formally binding the Universal Church with the exercise of Infallibility - what she had anathematized: the Masonic 'humanism' of the 1789 Revolution, cf., our posts "The Great Tribulation" and "Russia's Errors Spreading from the Vatican"]. In our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp [at the Sanctuary, indicating the Real Presence of Our Lord in the tabernacle] where God awaits them. Like Mary Magdalene, weeping before the empty tomb, they will ask, Where have they taken Him."
---
* Jesus Christ is BOTH God AND Man [cf., our post "The Petrine Confession"]; likewise, the Church... which is His body (Eph. 1.22,23) is BOTH divine AND human. The Catholic Church in its broad HUMAN sense - the visibly hierarchical world-wide JURIDICAL organization of the baptized (both sinners and the just) and operating through institutions. This is distinguished from the narrow DIVINE sense: the Catholic Church as the "MYSTICAL Body of Christ" - that is, the just, those who are united with Christ the Head and therefore in the state of sanctifying grace. Thus, the 'Catholic Church' being lambasted by the media that is the organ of propaganda by the Synagogue of Satan (Apoc. 2.9; 3.9) is a subject of  their "in-depth" ignorance or malignant calumny - what they report and even feign to 'analyze' is nothing but the phenomenological fact of what appears (what seems): the counterfeit 'Catholic Church' [the scandal-laden New 'Catholic' Disorder of Vatican II] sown by the ungodly men [of the Synagogue of Satan], secretly entered in (Jude 1.4) the Catholic premises IS the [instutional] Catholic Church - anathema si[n]t! (Gal 1.9)
---

Cardinal Pacelli, later Pope Pius XII, in saying that "the innovators [all around him] wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel" and that "in our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp* [indicative of the Real Presence of Christ]... Like Mary Magdalene... Where have they taken Him" alludes to Daniel 8.9,11-12,13: A little horn... became great.... And it was magnified even to the prince [the "Summus Pontifex" or the High Priest] of the strength: and it took away from him the continual sacrifice [note that reference does not pertain anymore to the Jewish bloody and unbloody sacrifices which must come to an end and indeed had already come to an end; but, to the perpetual priestly sacrifice of Christ according to the Order of Melchisedech: the unbloody sacrifice of Consecrated Bread and Wine on the Catholic high altar (Heb. 13.10)] and cast down the place of his sanctuary [cf., our post "The Catholic Sanctuary... (II)"].
---
* There is still a red lamp or bulb lighted in the artificially 'Catholic' sanctuaries. But here's the difference: its light is likewise artificial. God's Sanctuary on earth is His work and the works of the Lord: sought out according to all His wills (Ps. 110.2, Ch. and v. according to the enumeration of the Sacred Latin Vulgate Bible). Therefore, of His Sanctuary it is written: Look, and make it according to the pattern, that was shewn thee... (Ex. 25.40) of Old concerning the perpetual flame in the Sanctuary lamp - OIL to make lights (Ex. 25.2). In the Neo-Catholic sanctuary is the artificial light; but, in the [traditional] Catholic sanctuary is the Real Light.
---

The Desolation

The Catholic Sanctuary would be desolated of the Real Presence* of Christ - the source of strength, of beauty, grandeur, and majesty of the Church; the source of all that is holy in the Church. Why? Because of sins (Dan. 8.12). And since there can be no Real Presence of Christ in the tabernacle without It conferred on the high altar during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, therefore, THE Catholic Mass would be taken away [not "abolished," for who, even among the fallen angelic creatures, can abolish what God has instituted?] and so the Traditional Rite of Catholic Worship - "the norm [therefore, THE "ordinary form"]... in perpetuity," Pope St. Pius V, decreeing "ex cathedra", Quo Primum (cf., "The Traditional Latin Mass...") - was suppressed (cf., Pope Paul VI in our post "Obey God, rather than men").
---
* In every VALID Mass - including those in the "New 'Catholic' disOrder", whenever they could be granted as such, and among the schismatics - there is the Real Presence of the Lord and Savior. But, This Real Presence of the God-Man does not confer Its salutary effect - see more at "The New 'Mass' - even when valid, always illegitimate" and "The New 'Mass' in the eyes of God."
---

I will take away from them their strength, and the joy of their glory, and the desire of their eyes, upon which their souls rest (Ezech. 24.25).

The Abomination

The Sedevacantists claim that the New Rite of M[e]ss invented by a Freemason [to whom the little horn of Dan. 8.9 could be accomodated] is outrightly invalid. However, if on the Masonic-Protestant "table" and in the 'box' at the Neo-Catholic temples is found a mere wafer, in what does the abomination consist at all? Do not the openly Satanists employ a validly ordained perverted priest to perform a valid consecration at their sacrilegious "Black Mass" and what of Freemasons but, in the solemn judgment of the Chair of Peter, a Satanic "fraternity" - a different color of the same strand? The Word of God through the Prophet Malachias pointed out what this abomination at the artificially 'Catholic' sanctuaries would consist: O priests [NOTE: those who were able to secure still a valid ordination in the New Rite], that despise* My Name...: You offer polluted Bread! (1.7)
---
* A number of Neo-Catholic priests may say: "That does not apply to me." But, the Word of God has already well examined its 'psychology' of denial: ...and said: Wherein have we despised Thy Name (Mal. 1.7). That is, they were made "presiders" at the "table" of and in the name of a Neo-Catholic god [cf., the new concept of God and of Christ of the Neo-Catholic 'theology', cf., our post "The Ultimate Delusion of Vatican II 'Catholicism'"].
---

I was profaned in the midst of them!
(Ezech. 22.26)

The Petrine Confession

+
JMJ

Wednesday in Easter Week

In today's Epistle (Acts 3.13-15,17-19), we hear the following from the second sermon of St. Peter the Apostle, filled with the Holy Ghost (4.8), at the porch of Solomon in the Jewish Temple :

The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob… hath glorified His Son Jesus… (v.13): The Prince of the Apostles testifies once more to the truth of the Resurrection of the Son of man – the promised Messias Who, according to the Prophet Isaias, was to suffer and die (cf., Ch. 53) for sin (v.10). Proof: The man who was lame from his mother’s womb and daily sat at the gate of the Temple to beg was given… perfect soundness…. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Acts 3.1,6). The dead has no power to communicate bodily wellness even more so at the mere invocation of his name. But by pointing out first the power of the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob – the God, according to Our Savior, of the living and not of the dead – over the dead body of the Son of Man, the logical conclusion of the Apostle’s parallelism: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, it is the divine power that is operative for only the divine works the miraculous – in this case, the instantaneous bringing to life of the man’s dead lower limbs; however, by perfect soundness, the Name of Jesus effected much more (that is, spiritual life) just as the living God effected much more than a physical resurrection (He hath glorified the Body). The Apostle, in verses 14 and 15 below, does not mince words and categorically professes of Jesus Christ what his conclusion begs for with explicitness.

He [Pilate] judged [Jesus] should be released… Jesus Christ hath done no iniquity, neither was there deceit in His mouth, as the Prophet Isaias spoke of the Messias in His Passion (53.9). The Synagogue pressed for a most cruel death upon the Innocent and forced the juridical authority, who thrice insisted on the innocence of the bound Messias as the bound Paschal Lamb, to succumb to the principle of the (perverted) greatest number deciding what is true and false and what is good and evil.

You denied the Holy One…. The Author of life you killed… (vv.14,15): St. Peter confesses unabashedly that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the promised Messias, is both true God (the Author of life and the Holy One – that is, the Lord Redeemer of Israel, Is. 49.7) and true Man (you killed). He belies the charge of ‘blasphemy’ of the Synagogue (which blindly insisted - and still blindly insists – that ‘the Son of the carpenter’ was only a man) when Our Lord confessed that He was God in categorically claiming for Himself the title of the Son of God.

Be penitent, therefore, and be coverted, that your sins may be blotted out (v.19). To the adherents of the Synagogue, the Prince of the Apostles has this exhortation unto their salvation: be penitentbe convertedneither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved! (Acts 4.12). In his first sermon addressed to both Jews and heathen:  Do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins (Acts 2.38). Thus is the consistent voice of the Chair of Peter… until Vatican II.
