Sixth Sunday after Pentecost
They will faint in the way...
(from the Holy Gospel, Mk. 8.1-9)
On this day, exactly twenty-five years ago, the Apocalyptic vision of an angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the sign of the living God (7.2) and giving orders to four other angels to sign the servants of... God in their foreheads was fulfilled when Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre consecrated four priests as auxiliary bishops to perpetuate the traditional Catholic priesthood (for without traditional Catholic priests, the Traditional Latin Mass will "die the death": the continual Sacrifice shall be taken away, Dan. 12.11) and to administer the always valid Sacrament of Confirmation according to that Rite which the Church has received from the Apostles [that the angel having the sign of the living God and the four other angels were bishops, cf., our post The Wine of the Wrath of God]. To perpetuate the traditional Catholic priesthood - for the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) called for the formation of Neo-Catholic priests, 'ecumenical priests' (cf., Part II of the Directory Concerning Ecumenical Matters: Ecumenism in Higher Education, "The Ecumenical Dimension of Religious and Theological Education," in A. Flannery [N.O.]-O.P., ed., Vatican Council II: The Conciliar and Post-Conciliar Documents, Vol. I); on Vatican II 'ecumenism', cf., the despcription, not definition, given by Pope John Paul II in our post "Our 'Great Reversal'", also, "Our Lady and the Disorientation of Rome", the 'ecumenism' of "no return [to the Catholic Church]" in "When Mary Comes... (III)", and "Upheaval: Russia's Errors Spreading from the Vatican". See also "At the Heart of the Catholic Crisis - the Priesthood".
In our post, "In virtue of our Apostolic authority...," yesterday we exposed how the irregularity in the form of Pope Benedict XVI's execution of his "Summorum Pontificum" - which, from the Catholic viewpoint, falsifies even the juridical position of our Traditional Latin Mass to be an "extraordinary form" - renders his "motu proprio" document to be actually an invalid "Act of the Holy See". The same with Pope Paul VI's "Missale Romanum" which, originally, only WISHED for the celebration of Bugnini's M[e]ss (cf., our post Obey God, rather than men). Now, two days after the episcopal consecrations performed by Abp. Lefebvre, the Vatican of 'ecumenical' orientation issued a document, "Ecclesia Dei", declaring that what the venerable Archbishop did - which was in all reality a surprising divine check on the mystery of iniquity (2 Thess. 2.7) which worketh its third attempt to subvert the Church from within by striking at the priesthood and the hierarchy all the way to her visible head (for it is written: I will strike the shepherd, Mt. 26.31; the Prophet Isaias foretold: the whole head is sick, 1.5) - earned for him, as well as for his auxiliary bishops, the penalty of 'automatic excommunication'.
In the said "Ecclesia Dei" document, it is worth noting how Pope John Paul II used the phrase "Apostolic authority." He did not invoke it in materially endorsing the declaration of 'excommunication' by the Congregation of the Bishops but only on the establishment of a Commission that would work for the 'full' communion or integration of the venerable Archbishop and of those affiliated to him and his work in the "New 'Ecclesial Reality'" (Card. Hoyos, former head of the "Ecclesia Dei" Commission to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter) - that is, the New 'Catholic Church' or the "Novus Ordo". And how he 'anomalously' invoked it: "by virtue of my [instead of "our"] Apostolic authority, I [instead of "We"] decree..." That is not how a Sovereign Pontiff formally does it and that is not how a document is made a valid "Act of the Holy See". Obviously, the Commission would be preposterous for there was in reality no formal schism punishable with "ipso facto" excommunication insisted on by an overwhelming number of infected and bastard members of the episcopate (cf., our post "The Year 1929"). Another revealing instance of an scripted text presented to a figure-head to be rubber-stamped on (cf., Pope John Paul II against the scripted text of the 'last Consecration' to the Immaculate Heart: "When Mary Comes... III").
Indeed, with Archbishop Lefebvre's "Operation Survival", the Lord is the strength of His people, and the protector of the salvation of His annointed (from the "Introit" of today's Mass, Ps. 27.8,9,1).
